Master Learner
A teacher's role in the classroom

I don't know when I ran across this term, but I love it.
I see myself as the Master Learner in my classroom: I admit, I haven't read every book written in the English Language, but I know how to learn English like a pro. I have a repertoire of strategies I use to navigate a new text, and not every text is easy for me. I want to model my thinking for my students so they can see the process I use to gain meaning from a text. I don't have all the answers. However, I am an expert on my subject. I'm not afraid to be questioned, and I'm not afraid to consider a differing opinion.
Sometimes I struggle with writing, speaking, and listening, too. I've learned and developed ways to deal with those challenges when they come up.
It took a lot of time and practice to get to where I am. It's a process, and I still experience success and failure. And that's OK.
